Now it’s PW’s Turn
Publishers Weekly’s annual mystery feature is now up, focusing primarily on writers whom they call “debut” authors even though Andrew Gross is on novel number 6, at least, and Chelsea Cain wrote that Nancy Drew parody novel and Humphrey Hawksley has published several novels in the UK already*. But everyone else – Matt Richtel, Brett Battles, Jennifer Lee Carrell, Brent Ghelfi, Justin Evans and Jack Henderson – qualify as maiden mystery writers, so to speak.
Other features include interviews with several editors-turned-writers like Colin Harrison, Peter Gethers & Jason Pinter, the genesis of NAL’s new mystery imprint Obsidian, and the origins of Killer Year. Though I do hope one unfortunate typo gets corrected – last I checked, Brett didn’t look like this or this…
