My Goodness
So how often has the winner of the Edgar Award for one book been nominated for the National Book Award for his next?
Probably, oh, zero times. But Jess Walter gets to be the first, as he won the Edgar last spring for CITIZEN VINCE and THE ZERO gets a nod from the NBA in the fiction category, along with Mark Danielewski, Ken Kalfus, Richard Powers and Dana Spiotta.
The winner will be announced on November 16, along with those in the non-fiction, poetry and young people’s literature categories.
