The Mystery Company makes a move

Boy, good things are happening for Jim Huang. First he gets to co-chair the 2009 Bouchercon, and now his bookstore, The Mystery Company, is planning a big move, according to the Indianapolis Star:

He said this week that the shop will relocate close to the Monon Trail
in an old printing company building that will be renovated.

Huang and members of his family have purchased
the structure at 233 Second Ave. S.W., with hopes of getting city
remodeling permits and completing the construction work by the end of
this year.

 For several years, the Mystery
Company has operated in 1,500 square feet of space at 1323 South Range
Line Road, in the center of town in the Carmel Walk shopping center. "But
we’re growing, and we need more room, plus we’d like to expand the
(book) publishing business," Huang said, referring to publishing of
local mystery writers.

The new building has nearly 6,000 square feet. "We’d
like to have about 4,000 feet (for the book store and publishing
operation), and then we’d like to find someone to rent the rest of the
space to open a coffee shop," he said.

 Heartwarming news indeed.
