Art of the deals
Ah, it’s been a while since I rounded up deals of note. First, there’s Perri O’Shaugnessy jumping ship from longtime publisher Bantam Dell to new waters:
From Perri O’Shaughnessy (the pen-name of sisters Pamela and Mary), two
more suspense thrillers, following Maggie Crawford to Pocket, for
publication beginning in 2008, by Nancy Yost at Lowenstein-Yost.
Then there’s a new mystery series that sounds most intriguing, and obviously building on the success of John Burdett’s books:
Timothy Boyd’s A NAIL THROUGH THE HEART, launching a mystery series
about Bangkok, and n THE MILLION-DOLLAR MINUTE, the second in the
series, in which the hero finds himself stuck between North Korean
counterfitters, the Secret Service, and his long-estranged father’s cry
for help, to Marjorie Braman at William Morrow, in a pre-empt, by Bob
Mecoy at Creative Book Services (World).
And Jesse Kellerman looks to be sticking around quite a while:
Jesse Kellerman’s three new novels, to Chris Pepe and Ivan Held at
Putnam, in a significant deal, by Liza Dawson of Liza Dawson Associates. Foreign: Chandler Crawford.
