Great Guest Blog Month, Week Four

Again, the drill applies: I’ll be back for the Weekend Update and cede the blog to our fine guests for the remainder of this week.

Wednesday’s host is Larry Gandle, a frequent contributor to Deadly Pleasures Magazine and more recently, the Tampa Tribune. His reviews can be polarizing, controversial and occasionally incite argument, yes, but the expressed opinions originate out of one thing: finding good books to read and telling people what they are.

Friday brings Mark Billingham to this side of the pond – virtually, at least. His increasingly successful novels – most recently BURIED, the latest to feature his London protagonist DI Tom Thorne – offer fast-paced suspense, paeans to country music and dark humor that most everyone can enjoy. But my favorite Mark moment took place a few years ago when I saw him MC a show at the Comedy Store. Moral: don’t wear loud shirts. Ever. Oh, and he also hates hippies.
