And in the meantime, more deals

First, the extremely cool:

MOIST and DELICIOUS author Mark Haskell Smith’s SALTY, the humorous

struggles of a pampered and paunchy Heavy Metal superstar and his wife,

who is kidnapped while they are on vacation in Phuket, to Morgan

Entrekin at Grove/Atlantic, by Mary Evans at Mary Evans (NA).

Then there’s the slightly dissonant, but ultimately intriguing deal:

Former Fitness magazine editor-in-chief Emily Listfield’s LOST &

FOUND, drawing on a real-life incident in which her husband disappeared

while swimming at night, presumed to have drowned, but also offering

another inside look at the magazine world, to Greer Hendricks at Atria.

Finally, the trend towards real-person sleuths continues:

Lisa McDonald’s MURDER ON THE CLIFFS, a historical mystery series

featuring Daphne du Maurier as the amateur sleuth, to Hope Dellon at

St. Martin’s, in a nice deal, in a three-book deal, by Kim Lionetti at

BookEnds.

And so I’m pleased to announce that a deal is pending for MURDER AT THE PLAYBOY MANSION: The Ultimate Locked Room Mystery. Still haven’t decided if Hef or a Bunny to be named later will be the detective though…
