And some things are just really cool

By that, I mean checking my mail and finding my author copies of the June issue of Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine. I’m really proud to be among stellar company such as Robert Gray, Steve Hockensmith, Rob Kantner, Marianne Wilski Strong and fellow first-time AHMMer Rex Burns. And I’m especially thrilled with Hank Blaustein’s illustration, which wonderfully depicts the opening of “Politics and Poker”.

Continuing on the theme of cool — or more accurately, News of Me — it was great fun to moderate yesterday evening’s “Writing and Publishing a Novel” (more details about it here) and I’m looking forward to attending the City Lit festival in Baltimore this weekend, where BALTIMORE NOIR will be launched with a panel including Laura Lippman, Lisa Respers France, Dan Fesperman, Charlie Stella & Rob Hiaasen.

Which also means that I’m cutting out early and the Weekend Update will be posted late Sunday night. See you then.
