Deals, deals, deals
So first, three cheers for one of my favorite writers and people:
RAIN DOGS author Sean Doolittle’s two suspense novels, again to Shannon
Jamieson Vazquez at Bantam Dell, for publication in November 2007, in a
very nice deal, by David Hale Smith at DHS Literary.
It seems like a long way away, but before those books — both standalones — there’s THE CLEAN-UP, which will be out this November (and developed out of the marvellous short story “Worth” that appeared in PWG a couple of years or so ago.)
Otherwise, Holt asserts their belief that Jacqueline Winspear is worth a hell of a lot to them:
Two-time Agatha Award-winner and Edgar nominee Jacqueline Winspear’s
fifth and sixth books in her series featuring a former wartime nurse
turned psychologist and investigator, who solves her crimes against the
backdrop of a post-World War I England, to Jennifer Barth at Holt, in a
major deal, by Amy Rennert at the Amy Rennert Agency (NA).
For those keeping score, that’s up from the “very significant” deal for books 3 and 4.
