Crime gets a makeover at Hodder Headline
Well, not exactly a makeover, but they are changing things around a bit, according to a report by the Bookseller:
Headline has appointed a specialist crime and thriller editor for the
first time as it moves to build its presence in the market. Vicki
Mellor, Hodder Headline’s trade contracts manager, has been promoted to
senior commissioning editor.
Her brief is to “enhance
substantially Headline’s presence in the crime and thriller market and
to acquire and build new brands for the future for both the UK and the
international markets.” Headline added that Mellor is a lifelong addict
of crime and thriller writing.
This likely solidifies what’s already a pretty strong player in the UK’s crime fiction world — between their Headline and Hodder & Stoughton imprints, they publish a lot of bestselling and quality folk like Martina Cole, John Connolly, Dan Fesperman, and new writers like Louise Penny, Kathryn Fox and [continue].
