Mystery radio on KCRW

Can you believe Thanksgiving will be next week? Neither can I (though the weather’s finally in line with the holiday) but the Internet radio station KCRW is offering a fine treat for mystery fans for the actual holiday as well as Black Friday.

“Mean Streets USA: A Collection of Short Crime Fiction” is an 8-hour series, recorded and produced at KCRW, and features detective stories by contemporary and classic mystery writers, including Elmore Leonard, Walter Mosley, Sue Grafton and Michael Connelly, interpreted by Stacy Keach, Sharon Lawrence, Meschach Taylor, Brian Cox, Tony Plana and others.

After it airs on Thursday, November 24 from 1 pm – 4 pm PST and Friday, November 25 from Noon to 5 pm PST, the series will be available as a gift with membership. The full series is as follows:

“The Angry Man”  by Ross Macdonald  (Read by Stacy Keach)
“Karen Makes Out” by Elmore Leonard (Read by Sharon Lawrence)
“Silver Lining” by Walter Mosley (Read by Meshach Taylor)
“Serpents’ Dance” by Jim Fusilli  (Read by Tate Donovan)
“I’ll Be Waiting” by Raymond Chandler (Read by Dakin Matthews)
“Hard World” by Andrew Vachss (Read by Kevin Tighe)

“The Dead Their Eyes Implore Us” by George P. Pelecanos (Read by Tony Plana)

I must say, this looks to be very cool.
