I have been hopelessly remiss in blogging about the weeklong Brit-themed festival happening now at Partners & Crime, but for those looking for book-related entertainment, fabulous prizes and more, here’s what’s happening from now till next week (with all events beginning at 7 PM):
Tonight sees Jacqueline Winspear and Tony Broadbent at the store promoting their latest books (PARDONABLE LIES and SPECTRE IN THE SMOKE, respectively) and quizzing the crowd on whether they know their Cockney Rhyming Slang. There will be prizes. It remains to be seen if there will be censors…
Thursday evening, the store may well be packed to the gills as the opportunity to meet Ruth Rendell — making her first visit to NYC in a little over a decade — proves too much to resist.
On Friday, Peter May continues his around-the-country tour in service of THE FIREMAKER, the first book of his published in the US, while Saturday sees Tony Cape signing copies of his just-reissued THE CAMBRIDGE THEOREM. And then on Wednesday, October 5, the free-for-all raffle prize winners will be announced by Lee Child. I’m especially curious who gets to dine at Soho House…
