What’s Cooking?
Am I the only one out there (other than Ken Bruen) who has read Christopher Cook’s excellent noir novel, Robbers?
Seems like every time I mention the book, all I get back is blank stares. This piece of fiction belongs on a short list of stuff that absolutely blew me away. Cook does things with the English language and point of view that are probably illegal in some states yet works to great effect (or affect, never could keep those two straight) with the story. The closest comparison I can manage at the moment is to Kent Harrington’s Dark Ride.
Google mostly returns a bunch of old links related to the 2000 release of Robbers.
Does anybody know what Cook is up to these days?
