Happy August

The dog days are truly here — it’s the first day of August and I slept in late. The city’s getting cooler but people are still leaving whenever possible. And as for this blog, it’s going to have a lot of breathing room. Here’s how it will work for the rest of the month:

Sundays through Tuesdays, you’ll still hear from me with the usual (albeit somewhat diminished) round of links, news, and commentary. Then on Wednesdays and Thursdays, a different guest blogger will take the reins. It’s like last year’s Great Guestblogging Month: I’ll be featuring authors who — for the most part — have never blogged before and wanted to give it a shot. But this time, each only gets a single day so as to mix things up a little more.

You’ll meet Special Guest #1 this Wednesday, August 3, and to avoid any confusion, a brief introductory post will show up at the top of the blog to precede his — and future guest-bloggers’ — posts.

This schedule will go through the end of August, and then, in observance of the mystery holiday known as Bouchercon, it’s going dark until Tuesday, September 6.

If there’s stuff to be posted today, it will appear below this post.
