But will there be an Oedipal complex involved?

I think this may be a special notation in the psychological thriller category:

Frank Tallis’s MORTAL MISCHIEF: The first volume of the Liebermann

Papers, in which Dr. Max Liebermann, a young follower of Sigmund Freud,

has been asked by his detective friend to help solve an extraordinary

crime: a beautiful medium has been found shot dead, but the room

containing the body appears to have been locked from the inside and the

pathologist cannot find a bullet in her ruined heart…, to Morgan

Entrekin at Grove/Atlantic, in a nice deal, by Clare Alexander at

Gillon Aitken Associates.

Rights have been sold to Century/Arrow in the UK, as well as in Germany, France and Greece.

In fact, MORTAL MISCHIEF will be out next month in the UK, so it should be interesting to see the kind of reception it gets over there. Tallis is a practicing psychologist who’s written about being Lovesick, hidden minds, and a couple of novels, too.
