Vidlits Rock, But You Probably Already Knew That

M.J. Rose linked to a Wired article on her Buzz, Balls, and Hype last night, but as I was supposed to be eating dinner with my husband and kids I didn’t post it right then.

Wired quotes M.J. extensively on the potential of Vidlits as a book-promotion tool. Sarah’s commented on these, as has Mad Max Perkins over at Bookangst 101, but take a look if you haven’t yet checked them out. They’re splendidly quirky animated Flash shorts on books and authors, created by Liz Dubelman (the one based on her delusional-Scrabble-champion short story is especially fine).

I would really, really like a Vidlit for my novel Sore Excuse, if I ever have any money. Of course, I also daydream frequently about having enough cash to buy a pony, a chalet in Gstaad equipped with a magic bottomless fondue pot, or even a replacement crank for the passenger-side window in my ancient Honda, so there you go.
