And yet more fabulous news
I was thisclose to preparing a “Disappeared” feature on this guy, but luckily, now I won’t have to:
Shamus Award winner D. Daniel Judson’s THE DARKEST PLACE, a
Hamptons-set literary suspense novel, said to mix “the textured
characterizations of Dennis Lehane’s Mystic River with the
psychological suspense of Donna Tartt’s The Secret History,” to Ben
Sevier at St. Martin’s, in a good deal, in a pre-empt, by Scott Miller
at Trident Media Group (NA).
Chances are pretty likely that many of you missed out on Judson’s first two novels, THE BONE ORCHARD and THE POISONED ROSE. They were paperback originals unceremoniously dumped on the market with little fanfare by his former publisher (Bantam Dell) a few years ago, and it was a shame, because these were very good books — dark, moody, elegaically written. It’s great to see Judson back in the game.
