January Magazine’s first crime fiction newsletter of 2005 is now available for all to see. Along with the usual mix of news and noteworthy items are a ton of reviews, mostly by Kevin Burton Smith (five, including the debuts of Duane Swierczynski and Jim Winter) and Cindy Chow (seven), but Jennifer Jordan has a couple (of Isaac Adamson’s KINKI LULLABY and Larry Beinhart’s THE LIBRARIAN) Charles Smyth joins the ragtag gang of reviewers, Tom Nolan offers an appreciation of Margaret Millar, and Anthony Rainone puts forward the notion that Domenic Stansberry’s THE CONFESSION is most certainly Edgar-worthy.
