Belle de Jour on TV — but not the Bunuel version

Can’t someone just unmask the girl already? It’s getting really boring, and this bit of news is simply not helping:

Channel 4 is to make a TV drama series based on Belle de Jour, the diaries of a high class call girl.

The sexual adventures of the anonymous prostitute began as an internet weblog and are about to be published as a book.

Mystery surrounds Belle de Jour`s identity and there are suspicions that she is not a call girl at all but a journalist perpetrating an elaborate hoax. Channel 4 have acquired the TV rights and the project is in its early stages.

However, the broadcaster could find itself in an embarrassing position if Belle de Jour is unmasked as a hoaxer.

Then again, I thought she already was.
