Karin Slaughter makes the switch
It’s been in the works for a while (with speculation begun when the UK deal was announced first even though previously, world rights for her series had been awarded to her former US publishers) but the news is now official, according to Publisher’s Marketplace:
Karin Slaughter’s next three thrillers, to Irwyn Applebaum at Bantam
Dell, in a major deal, for “high seven figures,” with Kate Miciak
editing, by Victoria Sanders at Victoria Sanders & Associates (NA).
Slaughter still has one more book to go with William Morrow (FAITHLESS, Book 5 in the Grant County series), which will be published next summer.
By moving over to Bantam Dell, and specifically to Miciak (who’s been on a deal tear of late), Slaughter will share the same editor with Lee Child, Rick Riordan, S.J. Rozan, Greg Rucka, William Landay, Richard Zimler and newcomers (and mainly Brits) Louise Anderson, Alex Barclay and Morag Joss. Swell company, indeed.
