Bouchercon roundup, part VII: from the editor’s desk

George Easter, the proprietor of Deadly Pleasures, posted his own lengthy report on the mystery zine’s website. He talks about who he was happy to see again and which authors he got to meet for the first time. It also looks like BCon 2005 is getting a very early start on controversy:

Deen Kogan, co-chair of next year’s Bouchercon in Chicago (being held on the Labor Day weekend???) said that she would not be having the Barry Awards presented during the Opening Ceremonies. She said that another time was going to have to be found.

So…what’s going to happen during the opening ceremonies then? Will there be a longer, more officially sounding tirade launched against attendees and authors for not quieting down quickly enough? Truly, enquiring minds want to know…
