It seemed like a good way to make money
Manchester police sargeant Karl Thurgood’s in a spot of trouble after a recent ebay item he sold was found to be rather, well unorthodox:
A POLICE sergeant is being investigated over claims he has been selling a murder manual on ebay.
‘Hitman: A Technical Manual for Independent Contractors’ gives instructions on how to commit the “perfect” murder, clean weapons of identifying features, avoid leaving clues, seek out the victim and make money doing it.
Greater Manchester Police is looking into allegations that Sergeant Karl Thurogood, based at Collyhurst Police station, has been selling copies of the text on the internet auction site to both British and American buyers.
The Manchester Evening News paid £2.50 for a copy of the manual – which has been at the centre of a controversy in the US.
The book, which has advice on the best way to slit a victim’s throat and dispose of a body in water, was promptly despatched by email with the message, “Thanks for your payment – book attached, regards, Karl”.
I just want to know why the hell would anyone think to sell it when you can get the entire book for free…
