Jacqueline Winspear’s big score
So I’m settling back into my apartment, looking at the mountain of unanswered email and links that have piled up to the heavens (I should sort through them for an early morning post tomorrow) and look what comes over the PM transom:
Agatha Award winner for Best First Novel and Edgar nominee for Best Novel Jacqueline Winspear’s third and fourth Maisie Dobbs books in her series set in England in the years following World War I, to John Sterling and Jennifer Barth at Holt (with Picador to publish in paperback), in a very significant deal, by Amy Rennert at Amy Rennert Agency (NA). Translation rights are with Chandler Crawford.
Can’t really say I’m surprised, considering the increasing success of the series, and that this was an offer that couldn’t be refused (or matched by her previous publisher, Soho Press.) Nice work, indeed.
