Wignall under the microscope

As David Thayer, one of Collected Miscellany’s adjunct bloggers, interviews Kevin about the new book, his attitude towards blogs (“the most exciting media development in years”), and his earliest life ambitions:

CM: Was writing always your ambition?

KW: Okay, now don’t jump to conclusions, but my first ever wish (aged 5) was to be an assassin. Then I considered becoming an explorer, actor or lawyer. At about the age of eleven I read a short story by Saki, “The Lumber Room”, and I knew that was what I wanted to do.

Yup, I’m sure the assassin business only started up because they got to look cool and wear sunglasses and stuff. Bien sur.
