Boy, does it ever run in the family

Faye and Jonathan Kellerman are both incredibly successful thriller writers who happen to be married to each other. But that isn’t enough for the family, because now their eldest son is getting in on the act:

Playwright and son of Faye and Jonathan Kellerman Jesse Kellerman’s first thriller DEAD WATER, about a single woman who travels to a small town in Mexico to discover who killed her beloved boss, to Chris Pepe at Putnam/Berkley, for six figures, in a two-book deal, by Liza Dawson at Liza Dawson Associates (NA).

It’s turned out to be quite the month for Jesse, as he married college sweetheart Gabriella Rosen three weeks ago. Not too often that it happens that someone comes back from their honeymoon to find their first book’s sold….

Anyway, Kellerman the Younger is fairly accomplished as a playwright. One of his plays was included in the 2001 Edinburgh Fringe Festival; another was presented by the Wellfleet Theatre in Boston a couple of years ago. He’s also a fellow with New Dramatists in New York City, and may not even need to be Ettlingered.
