Interviews in the air

It seems all too timely to link to these two interviews just as I’m about to dash off to conduct one of my own (more information on that at some time in the not-too-distant future), which demonstrates the kind of original content that blogs are capable of delivering time and time again.

Mark Sarvas talked to Swink editor-in-chief Leelila Strogov a few weeks ago and has finally put up the transcript. It’s plain from this Q&A that she’s excited about literature, short fiction, and the LA literary scene–reasons why I myself am excited about Swink and its place in the literary world.

Meanwhile, Maud Newton continues her Fiction Writers on Writing series by interviewing Stephen Elliot about his habits, his inspiration, and his switch to non-fiction for his next book, which covers the 2004 electoral campaign.
