Kate Lee makes a deal

Barely a week after the now-infamous “Talk of the Town” piece in last week’s New Yorker, Kate Lee has, apparently, made her first fiction sale, according to Publisher’s Marketplace:

Dave Kalstein’s RECESS, set in a near-future dystopia, as a string of alumni from a boarding school that hormonally breeds its students for perfection turns up murdered, and one student has to unravel the mystery, to Sean Desmond at Thomas Dunne/St. Martin’s, by Kate Lee at ICM (world).

Kalstein’s novel seems to be based on a short film that will premiere at the Brooklyn International Film Festival next week. He’s also a former staffer at GQ and has no visible connection whatsoever to the blogosphere.
